Hello, I’m Catherine
I’m a UK-born, Switzerland-based specialist in patient communication, with a background in applied linguistics and healthcare communication.
Before specialising, I spent nearly two decades teaching medical English and communication skills to healthcare professionals. My doctoral research in corpus linguistics and patient information grounds the work I do now, and I maintain a practical interest in how AI tools are changing the landscape — including comparative work on LLM performance for plain language summaries, presented at ISMPP Europe.
Alongside my work, I’ve always had a love of languages and continue to study them (I speak Italian and I’m currently learning Greek). When I’m not at my desk, I spend my time walking and hiking, and practising Qi Gong and yoga.
